Art and Literature Youth Therapy Program
(July-August 2025)

In collaboration with Excellence In International Education, the Art and Literature Summer Enrichment Program is uniquely designed to provide Palestinian youth who have experienced the trauma of war with a safe and nurturing space for healing and growth. This course intertwines the transformative power of art and literature, offering a platform for self-expression, emotional processing, and creative exploration. We believe in the resilience of these young minds and are dedicated to providing them with the tools and support they need to navigate their experiences and build a positive future. Through engaging activities, reflective exercises, and the inspiring stories of artists who overcame adversity, we aim to foster a sense of community, empowerment, and hope.

We will delve into the lives of Frida Kahlo and Vincent van Gogh, exploring their journeys through art and personal struggle. Through journaling, paint-by-number exercises, and the creation of self-portraits, teens will have the opportunity to express their own narratives and emotions. Our team of trauma-informed educators, professional art therapists, and visiting artists will provide constant support and guidance, creating a safe and inclusive environment where every teen can feel heard and understood. Our mission is to empower these remarkable teens by providing them with the tools to heal, grow, and express themselves. We envision this course as a stepping stone towards building a brighter future, where they can embrace their creativity, find their voice, and navigate life's challenges with strength and resilience. We are confident that this enriching experience will provide invaluable support, foster lasting connections, and inspire a renewed sense of hope and possibility.
