All of our projects are funded by people like you.

From personal donations to fundraising events, our work is only possible due to the community that mobilizes with us.

Here are the projects we’re currently fundraising for!

Need fundraising ideas?

Here’s a few that have worked for Denizens in the past!

Popup or Booths

Invite artists, bakers, and others to a mingle/market or set up a couple booths in an already-scheduled event (with their permission of course). Proceeds from the sales can then be donated!

Host a Dinner Party

Are you a chef, foodie or exceptional home cook? Consider hosting a supper club or offer a tasting menu experience. If you’d like to go big, rent out a restaurant or ask if they’d be able to donate the space for the cause. But for a smaller number of people or cozier feel, you can host the event in your home or a rented apartment.

Raffle

Raffles are often low-cost/high reward fundraisers. Prizes can be donated by the community. Example prizes may include a gift card to a restaurant or massage parlor, free tattoo session, artwork, wine, or baked goods. The sky's the limit really. Make sure raffle contestants understand what their contribution supports will signs and banners and the prizes are on full display! If you’re in the US, you can make raffle entries easy with a framed Venmo QR code. If in-person events aren’t available to set up a booth, consider doing an online raffle over the span of several days.

Bakesale

If you, your friends or a local bakery are willing to donate baked goods, perhaps a bake sale would be a good option for your fundraiser! The bakesale can be held with an in-person booth, online, or at a bakery willing to participate. Your cakes and pastries don’t have to be high-end to choose this option. Most supporters are happy enough to get a yummy treat knowing their money went to a good cause.

Art Sales

Make stickers, pins, pottery, paintings or any other sort of art? Offer all or part of the profit from the sale of a specific piece as a donation. Or, if a unique fundraising piece isn't the best idea for your business model, you can advertise that a percentage of the proceeds from your business will be donated for a specific amount of time.

Walkathon or Marathon

If you’re a more active person (or are trying to be), host a walkathon or marathon. If an official event is too much, do one on your own! Have friends and family pledge per distance completed and get running!

Jumble or Garage Sale

If you have some clothes or toys  you’ve outgrown, furniture that doesn't fit your new wallpaper or tools that have been in the shed for years, why not host a community garage sale with your friends. You can rent or request a hall for donation or, in the summer months, host these outside!

Concert

Musicians, this one's for you! You don’t even need a venue if your local parks permit music outside. We wish we had good photos of the last concert but feel free to share yours and we’ll add it here as a thank you!

  • Dyke Day Parade Raffle

One of the most beautiful raffle booths made in Denizen’s honor was at the 2024 Dyke Day Parade in LA. Prizes included artwork, tattoo appointments, and self-care kits. We wish we could have attended! It looked like so much fun.

  • Tasting Menu Fundraiser / Market and Mingle Event

Anna, Chef Saif, and Sabrina orchestrated a 5-course tasting menu in Brooklyn, NY. The restaurant kindly donated the venue. And diners enjoyed all the flavors of Palestine through Chef Saif’s incredible dishes. It was such a success. Before the meal they also hosted a daytime market/mingle. There were light bites, drinks, merch, Palestinian olive oil, zaatar, and tatreez for sale. The tatreez was hand-made by Gazan women and smuggled through the border into Egypt during evacuations.

  • Bath Campaigns Bake Sale

Bath Campaigns in the UK  hosted a cake sale with cakes donated by members of their local community. Bunting, flags, and artwork made an eye-catching booth! Or, if you’re a professional baker, consider making bake sale boxes or hosting a booth at a popup like Snackie Chan Chicago!
